When Anel and I were in nutrition school, one of our teachers, an expert in ayurvedic named John Douillard, spoke a lot about the importance of eating seasonally, especially in the spring. According to Ayurveda, this season is particularly important because it's a time to clean out your gut after all of the heavy, fat-rich foods that our bodies crave during the winter.

How We Divide Parenting Roles

When Anel and I were young and falling in love before we were married and had a child together, we excitedly talked about our future constantly. At the time, he was a personal trainer working for a gym in Manhattan and my marketing career was taking off, so we assumed that he would take on more of a primary caretaker role with our future babies.

Mother’s Day Gift Guide

It will be my second Mother's Day this Sunday, and I'm so excited for a day to celebrate my motherhood journey and mothers everywhere. As a mom, I can tell you that getting a thoughtful gift on this special day feels really good. It doesn't have to cost a lot, but we really appreciate a little thank you for all of the dirty diapers changed, all of the meals cooked, all of the crises averted, all of the tantrums quelled, and all of the putting everyone else first.
