Signs and Storefronts

In France, even the street signs look romantic. Maybe because I got engaged there, maybe because they're in French, maybe because they don't have that cheesy American twist. On our trip, I couldn't stop snapping photos of storefronts, street signs, and everything in between. I hope you appreciate them as much as I did!

Starting this week, I will only be posting on Lemons & Loafers 4 times a week (Monday-Thursday).

La Nourriture

{bright tomatoes from an farmer's market in Aix-en-Provence}

The absolute best thing about France is the food ("la nourriture" in French). Traditionally people think of French food as cheese, fois gras, and very rich, heavy meat dishes. Those things are definitely rampant, but the country is also full of gorgeous markets packed with fresh fruits, vegetables, olives, sauces, sausages, spices, breads, sweets...the list goes on and on!

Rainbows and Lace

{dress: borrowed, shoes: Parisian boutique, scarf, earrings, bracelet: vintage, glasses: Forever 21}

I bought this deliciously colorful rainbow striped silk scarf at the Brooklyn Flea Market a few weeks ago, but wasn't sure where or how to wear it until it slipped out of my suitcase right before a dinner out on the town in St-Remy de Provence.

The Whole Sparkling Story…

{Celebrating after Anel proposed!}

As most of you know, I spent the last 10 days in France. The trip was absolutely incredible: Three days in Paris, roaming the streets, seeing the sights, and then 5 days in Provence, soaking up the sun, frolicking through lavender fields, eating ridiculous amounts of fois gras, and drinking wine with every meal.

Routines That Keep Us Sane

When I travel, I miss my daily and weekly routines at home. Although I'm probably creating my own routines in France as we speak (morning strolls along the Seine, lunch at outdoor cafés, pretty aperitifs before dinner- you get the idea). Sure, it's slightly obsessive compulsive but routines keep me sane. I find it hard to feel completely normal without my morning green smoothie and my afternoon peppermint tea.
