Vegan Garlic Scapes Pesto


Here is the inevitable post about garlic scapes pesto! For any of you that have a CSA, you are familiar with the garlic scape. If not, you probably have no idea what I'm talking about. Garlic scapes are the stems from which garlic bulbs grow. Most people don't know that you can eat other parts of the garlic plant.

White and Navy


The other morning on my way to work, I was walking to the subway wearing one of my favorite color combinations: White and Navy. Made even better by the fact that I paired it with gold. White jeans, navy v-neck, gold sandals, and a gigantic gold necklace. Topped off with my gold rimmed ray-bans. Obviously.

As I was crossing a very busy 2nd Avenue at 68th Street, I noticed three women around me wearing the same colors!

Pappardelle with Spiced Butter

The moment I saw this recipe on 101 Cookbooks, my favorite cooking blog, I knew that I had to make it. I salivated over the photo (shown to the right) for about a week, until I decided to send the link to my good friend and amazing cook, Lizzie. She agreed to bring over some herbs from her garden in exchange for using my kitchen!

Topsiders Making a Comeback

Well they are in my life anyway...

Last summer on Martha's Vineyard, my sister Lauren and I were influenced by the preppified island to buy new pairs of Sperry's topsiders- mine in camel and hers dark brown, a difficult decision, especially given the fact that when one sister chooses a certain color, the other immediately wants it as well.
