This shirt is ridiculous...
Yeah I said it. I mean the sleeves, the hot pink gingham, the whole kit and kaboodle.
But you know what? I love it anyway. It makes me happy to look at and it makes me happy to wear! I fully realize that my husband will make fun of me each and every time I do, calling me everything from Jerry Seinfeld to a picnic blanket, but the punchy pink and fun silhouette bring a smile to my face so I'm going for it.
I haven't written a "Life Lately" post since November of last year. Oops! Is this something you guys want me to bring back? Let me know because I love writing them and if you love reading them, its a no brainer!
For newer readers, it is a Friday weekly post that consists of a little update from my week along with great reads and buys from around the web.
I've written about my wellness philosophy in the past, but wanted to touch on one specific piece of it for today's post: The 80/20 rule that Anel and I try to follow in all walks of our life.
Essentially it means exactly what it sounds like... 80% of the time we try to live as cleanly as possible, and 20% of the time we let things slide.
About a month ago, Anel and I realized that Amalia needed more room for her toys and to move around. As she became more mobile and active, her tiny play mat wasn't cutting it anymore. Our dining room (across from the more formal living room in our house) was seldom used, despite my grand visions of constant dinner parties in the 'burbs, so we decided to turn it into her play room.

Well I've said it before and I'll say it again but this is my favorite month ever... so far! Seven to nine months has always been my favorite baby age, and it's exciting to see my own daughter in this fun and happy stage of life.
