Luca's tonsillectomy and adenoidectomy has come and gone and while I can say I never want to do that again, I can also say that I'm so happy we did it.
I received so many tips from other moms who went through this and while they were helpful and made a huge difference, it should be noted that nothing can fully prepare you for what to expect because every kid is different, every surgery is different, and every recovery is different.
One of the things I've learned about myself in my sober-ish journey over the last (almost) year is that the hardest times for me to say no to a drink is when I've had a tough day and the kids are both melting down and I'm trying to make dinner for everyone and I am on sensory overload.

I'm not ready to jump into turtlenecks and scarves, but I have been wearing this hot pink sweater a lot lately, the perfect mix of summer colors in a fall piece of clothing.
A year ago today, my first baby, Amalia, started Kindergarten. I was so worried about my tiny little girl getting on that big yellow bus but, as you can see in the photo above, she hopped on with her friends and never looked back. At that moment I thought we were good to go, but boy was I wrong!
