Hello! We are getting back into our groove here in the second week of school. Amalia is learning that 1st grade is a lot more work than Kindergarten and Luca is thrilled to be able to play on the "big kid playground" at daycare this year. Mama is just happy to be back on our normal routine.
Luca's tonsillectomy and adenoidectomy has come and gone and while I can say I never want to do that again, I can also say that I'm so happy we did it.
I received so many tips from other moms who went through this and while they were helpful and made a huge difference, it should be noted that nothing can fully prepare you for what to expect because every kid is different, every surgery is different, and every recovery is different.
One of the things I've learned about myself in my sober-ish journey over the last (almost) year is that the hardest times for me to say no to a drink is when I've had a tough day and the kids are both melting down and I'm trying to make dinner for everyone and I am on sensory overload.
I'm not *quite* ready for summer to end, but even I have to admit I'm a teeny tiny bit excited for fall fashion. But only a little! I'm not ready to jump into turtlenecks and scarves, but I have been wearing this hot pink sweater a lot lately, the perfect mix of summer colors in a fall piece of clothing.
