Gardening Tips: May

Everything in our garden is prepped and planted, and I've already been able to use some herbs and lettuces for few recipes. The other night I made our first garden salad using Anel's crunchy lettuce, kale, and some spinach. The next few months are very exciting for New England gardeners because soon we'll see a lot of yield!

Simple Suppers: Shrimp & Corn Salad

Last night I whipped together this quick, fresh, easy, and bright summery salad. It was bursting with flavor and was so good that I had to share it as a simple supper today. This is my favorite kind of meal... one that tastes good and makes you feel good. The lettuce came from our garden and that made me excited for many garden-forward meals to come over the next few months.

Summer Bags I Love

I love a raffia or rattan bag for summer. At one point (before I did my big declutter), I had an entire basket in my closet labeled as rattan bags. When I first made the label, Anel misread it as "rotten" bags which I still giggle about whenever I use one of those bags. This list includes some great ones like a cute mini tote for under $40 and the most simple and a perfect oversized raffia beach bag.

5 Random Things: May

And just like that... we're halfway through May with summer on the horizon. And it feels so good! This month has been all about hanging outside with the kids, watching them jump and play around. We are all coming back to life after winter with the sunshine and warmth.

I've been all over with travel and excited to stay put for a while.
