If you had told me a year ago that I’d be wearing a jacket and leggings with leather details on my blog, I would have laughed in your face. But that’s the thing about fashion: It evolves, it changes, and it improves with age. Last fall, this is what I was wearing. See the difference? Not that I don’t still sometimes wear all pink with a collared shirt poking out, but now I embrace my edgier side as well.
It’s actually kind of cool that I have a place to document this change, season by season. I’m happy with my style these days, although I’m sure I’ll look back on it in a year or two and cringe at a few of my choices. Do you ever have that feeling? Which look do you prefer? The preppier, more colorful Julia or the edgier, more New Yorky Julia?
In other news, one trend that I don’t think I’ll ever get sick of is chambray (My dad likes to make fun of me and say that chambray is just a fancy way of saying “jean shirt”. He has a point!). It’s like the gift that keeps on giving, am I right? It’s been in style now for over 3 years and it doesn’t seem to be going anywhere.
