This weekend was quite eventful. We flew from Martha’s Vineyard to Newport Beach, CA for our annual family reunion on my mom’s side. I got to spend some quality time with my cousins, aunts, uncles, and grandparents and soak up some sunshine and salty ocean air at the same time. One of our clan had a body surfing accident which landed him in the hospital. It reminded us all how life is so fleeting and to appreciate every minute of it.
In the next turn of events, our flight back to New York was cancelled and we’re officially stuck in Southern California until the end of the week. I can’t say that I’m too upset about missing Hurricane Irene on the East Coast. Instead I can keep working on my tan and enjoying the fresh sweet produce!
Man, Julia that sunset looks like Tropical Punch!
gorgeous. I want to be there.

Hey! I live in Newport Beach and recognized the colorful beach chairs right away. I must walk by that house daily!
Hope you enjoyed your visit.
