{Posing in shades at an early age, at my grandparents’ house}
My Dad and I drove up to Rhode Island this weekend to move my Grandmother out of the house that she had been living in for the last 25 years. It was heartbreaking to say goodbye to a space where I spent every Christmas and Thanksgiving of my life, a space where our family’s “pizza night” tradition started, and a space where my sister and I grew up. We went through boxes of old photos, and all of the memories hit me like a ton of bricks. As hard as it was to say goodbye to the house, I am so grateful that I was lucky enough to have such a happy childhood.
Hi Julia, I’m going through the exact same situation as well right now. It’s one of the hardest things to let go and say goodbye to childhood memories. Stay strong and just remember all the wonderful times you spent with your grandmother, thats what I’m trying to do and I hope you do as well!
