I will be pinching myself all day long because my collection of ginger jars with Lauren Haskell Designs launches today!!! This project has been a dream come true and it still doesn’t even feel real.
It all started at the beginning of this year when I was thinking about what parts of my job make me the happiest. At the time, I was in the middle of planning for my first Chappywrap launch and loving the process of creating an actual product. I’ve been collecting ginger jars for over a decade and always wanted to make some of my own but had no idea how to make that happen.
I had a brain wave during that time and reached out to Lauren Haskell to see if she would be interested in doing it with me.
Lauren and I connected years ago when I shared some of her throw pillows and have been IG friends ever since. She decided to make her business more sustainable after reading my sustainability challenges (so cool!) and wrote me a hand-written letter to tell me that. Talk about a classy lady.
If her name sounds familiar on Lemon Stripes, it’s probably because I’ve shared a bunch of her products over the years including her tassel drawer pulls from our family room that seem to be a fan favorite.
Lauren wrote back immediately and we spent the next few weeks hashing out the details. I then sent her a mood board with colors and patterns I liked and she came back with initial designs that we then tweaked a few times to end up with what you see here: 2 patterns (striped and floral) in 2 colors (blue and green) in 3 sizes (small, medium, and large).
All of the jars are made by hand in the USA in her very own studio (in Oklahoma), and each piece is made with love!
My personal favorite piece in the collection is the small blue floral jar. It’s just so tiny and sweet. But I also just love the color green we went with so anything in that colorway is fun too. Ok fine, I love them all! You can use them as decor pieces or a vase for flowers in your home.
