I have finally turned our living room into the cozy hangout of my dreams. I loved the way it looked before but after we had Luca and spent more time as a family of four in this space, the layout wasn’t making sense anymore. We wanted a big, deep, soft, buttery sectional where we could all cuddle under a blanket and watch movies, read books, and play games.

A friend of mine had recently got a sectional from Benchmade Modern and when I sat it in it, I melted straight into the couch and immediately needed every single detail. It’s such a fun process to create a custom sofa with them because they send you a ton of swatches and then once you pick your size design, they send a paper roll-out so you can see how it will fit in your space. Each custom order is made in as little as four weeks which is the true miracle of it all.

We went with the sectional with a chaise from the Like Butter collection with Charles River performance fabric. I know neutral furniture is what all the kiddos are doing these days but I’m so happy that I went with a bold blue because it’s so beautiful and happy and just fun!

The back wall is still a work in progress, I want to add either grasscloth or another textured wallpaper behind the beautiful Lauren Marttila prints that are gigantic in real life and so calming and beautiful. I adore her work (I have another piece in our family room) and she is just lovely as a human being as well.
