The last few mornings, I’ve been greeted by cooler weather on my way out to walk the dog. I actually had to put on a long sleeved shirt (gasp!) yesterday. As much as I hate to admit it, fall is sneaking up on us swiftly as it always does so I’m trying to prepare my closet for the inevitable change in season.
I’m not quite ready to talk puffer vests and blanket scarves so I went for more lightweight, early fall pieces on my yearly back to school shopping list, something that I started as a kid and have continued as an adult. My back to school list contains trendier pieces that I’m excited about for the season, which is different from my list of fall wardrobe staples. Per your requests, I’ve included more affordable options for a lot of the pricier pieces!
Every year, I add a plaid shirt to the list first. This fall I’m going to bite the bullet and invest in a Rails shirt because they are so so soft and the fit just can’t be beat. If that’s not in your price range or you don’t feel like making the splurge, this one is a dead ringer for under $50.
I’ll probably live in jeans for the next six months or so and I like to add a fresh pair to my collection every fall. Last year I bought these and they are, hands down, my favorite jeans of all time. I found a similar pair for only $64. They pair perfectly with leopard flats (always a staple for me!) and a plaid blazer. Ahh! Seriously can’t wait to wear that outfit soon.
One trend I’m dying to try is the bandana. I was on the fence about it this summer but have seen a bunch of my blogger friends rocking bandanas in the last few weeks and I’m sold. This red one is $12 and would be adorable with a crisp white button down and dark jeans. I love this chambray J.Crew version too.
Plaid shirt (similar under $50) / Candle / Nail Polish (in Vamp) / Blazer / Cap ($19!)- I also love this hat that comes in 6 colors and is under $40 / V Neck Sweater (in 4 colors) / Leopard Flats (similar for $40) / Wallet / Jeans (similar for $64) / Sunglasses / Duck Boots / Striped Top / Bandana (also love this chambray one)
