Athleta Ponte Pants

Black + Blush

c/o Athleta Ponte pants, Pleione blouse, Gibson blazer, Julie Vos necklace, Sam Edelman pumps, Chanel bag

You know those days when you just want to wear yoga pants to work/brunch/date night? Yeah, me too. And it’s pretty much every day of the week. Well, I’ve got you covered because now you can! “But that would be unprofessional!” you say. I reply with a, “Not anymore.” Read on…

With both of my full-time jobs, my days are busy busy busy. I’m constantly on the go, running from one thing to the next. My wardrobe needs to be both comfortable and stylish because I never know where the day will take me!

When I first tried the Athleta Ponte pants, my problem was immediately solved! These pants are uber soft, flexible enough for my 20 minutes of early morning Vinyasa flow, and chic enough to wear paired with a blouse, blazer, and pumps. They look like a pair of sleek black jeans and feel like pajamas. Win/win!

I did a test run last week and hit up a few of my favorite local spots.

Yoga practice in my living room- I try to start each day with 20 minutes of Vinyasa flow to simultaneously ground and energize me for the day. When I first saw these pants, I thought that they would be great for work but there would be no way that I could actually practice yoga in them. But they are Athleta, after all, so I thought I’d give it a go. I like an ankle pant for exercise so I rolled up the cuffs and got into downward dog. Although the button at the waist, nothing was poking me or sticking into my stomach weirdly. Plus they were just breathable enough. Success!

Ponte Pants Yoga

I throw on a white blouse and drapey blush blazer for a full day at the office. On my way, I grab an acai bowl and green juice at my absolute favorite vegan juice bar, Green & Tonic.

After a morning at work, I head out for a lunch meeting with the Nourish Snacks marketing team at Bartaco where we sit outside and discuss our fall content strategy over fish tacos. Although it’s warm out, I’m not sweating in these pants. I may have eaten one too many tacos but they aren’t feeling tight or constricting at all.

Time for date night! I shed the blazer and throw up my hair for dinner and drinks with my husband at The Whelk in Westport. If you go, you have to try the Green Goddess deviled eggs! Usually after a long day of work, I’m ready to change into something more comfortable the second I get home. When we finish dinner finally go home, I sit and blog for an hour without even changing.

  1. So intrigued by these! I wear the Lilly Travel Pant and find it to be kind of similar to what you’re describing with these, but they’re definitely not made for workouts. Bookmarking to give these a try because really, who doesn’t want to wear leggings all day every day?!

I’m with you. I was a little dubious that they would work for actual yoga practice but nice to hear you had a good experience. They look great with the blazer as well! I might have to look into these! — SC at Samantha Chic
