Last Friday, I spent a (very cold!) day in the city for NYFW. If you’re a long time reader, you know that Fashion Week is so not my thing, but there are a few events that I like to attend. One of them is the Kate Spade presentation. It’s always fun and whimsical, and this year was no different. They showed both spring and fall collections at The Russian Tea Room, a space I’ve always wanted to see. It’s such a cool and quirky venue, and I recommend a visit if you’ve never been!
After the show, I headed to The Plaza Hotel, one of my all time favorite places in the city. If you remember, last time I was there I had dinner with the Kardashians (ok next to them, but whatever). This time around, they invited us to a beautiful two-story penthouse suite for tea sandwiches, fresh juices, and blow outs. Of course I had my hair done after we took these photos, but still pretty impressed with my wand skills.
Kate Spade sent over this dress for me to wear to the show, but it was so cold out that I actually had on leggings and boots underneath it (so chic) until we got inside and I could change into my fun little red pumps (perfect for Valentine’s Day!). I love the dark floral print of this dress, and had a hard time deciding between the one I’m wearing and this version. I ended up going with the flouncy shift because it felt more comfortable over the baby bump. I sized up so it wouldn’t be too tight in my midsection, and it fit perfectly.
After the Plaza event, I ended up cancelling my afternoon plans because I was exhausted. It’s amazing how an hour commute to the city, a 10 block walk, and two events can exhaust me these days. One of the most frustrating parts about being pregnant is that I get tired so easily. I’m not the kind of person who likes to “take it easy”, but I’m forced to more and more lately. Luckily, my friend Arielle, who is also pregnant, let me come crash on her couch for a few hours before my evening event. Laying down and eating some food made me feel 1000% better, and I’m glad I made that decision.
I love these fun photos we took in the Plaza suite that I definitely need to stay in one day. I can’t get enough of that wallpaper!
