Right On Time

Happy Friday, friends! This week was so productive and I was quite on top of my game if I do say so myself. I finally was able to get through the mountain of work that piled up after four consecutive weeks of travel, and I hosted my first ever entrepreneur night with 10 women in Darien last night. I’m so excited about how it went, and I’ll talk more about that next week.

Whether I’m out of town or at home, my life is constantly go go go, which makes it hard to keep track of everything going on. I’ve resisted getting a smartwatch for a long time because I didn’t like the idea of being too connected, but this chic watch creates a perfect balance. It alerts me to things like text messages, tracks my steps and sleep, and even controls my music, without messages popping up and distracting me. It uses customized vibrations for alerts and then, if I choose, I can go to my phone and check out what’s going on. Like I said, the perfect balance.

Plus, this unisex watch looks simple and modern, and retails for just over $200. I like a lot of the Skagen watches, but this Skagen Connected Hybrid Smartwatch from Macy’s has been a lifesaver recently. It helps me to only check my phone when I know something is up. I have a tendency to check it too often for no reason, a habit that I’m desperately trying to break.

Lately I’ve been craving simplicity in many areas including how I dress and eat. Maybe it’s the time of year but I think it’s just me getting older and hopefully a little wiser. It’s easy to live in messy abundance, but it takes work to live a more streamlined, clean life.

With clothing, I’ve been drawn to neutrals in pieces like simple tunic sweaters (I also love this one on sale for $28!) It’s a stray from how I usually dress but it’s making me happy for now so I’m going with it. Luckily my new watch fits right in with the theme.

In eating, I’ve gone back to cutting out gluten and wine, sticking to a diet of clean, whole foods, and I feel 1000x better physically and mentally. It got a little dicey there around Halloween, but I’m back on track now!

Now let’s hope for a simple, streamlined weekend, shall we?

Cute sweater! And I have felt the same way about smart watches, but that seems like a good balance!

I love Skagen products (having been to Denmark). Is the watch heavy? Waterproof? Looking at buying it next week when it will be available in Quebec.

Hi Melanie! It’s actually super light (I was surprised) and according to the website it’s water resistant up to 30 meters.

Great post! I’m looking to hit the reset button on my diet post-halloween. Do you find it’s easier to go cold turkey (stop gluten, sugar, etc) or ease back into being healthy (go from like 5 sweets a day to one a day, then one every other day)? Looking for tips!

Looking forward to it! I took the first step of throwing out all candy at our house this morning and stocking the place with fruit and nuts instead! One day at a time 🙂
