Last night we got home for a rejuvenating weekend in Martha’s Vineyard with my family. More on that later… On the way out to the island, Anel and I made a pit stop for a romantic evening in Newport at The Chanler Hotel. We spend a lot of time in Newport but I’ve always fantasized about staying at The Chanler, located at the entrance of The Cliff Walk which boasts one of my favorite views in the world (because it’s sentimental and also stunning).
We arrived on Thursday night after sitting in four hours of aggressive traffic. When we walked in they immediately poured us a glass of champagne and showed us to our room with a private entrance on the side of the grand building. It was elegant and old-timey with a bathtub the size of my first kitchen in Manhattan.
We made a quick change for dinner at The Spiced Pear, their unbelievable restaurant with crazy views of the Atlantic. Dinner. Was. Amazing. Like for real one of the best meals I’ve ever had in New England. We tasted everything from a fresh heirloom tomato salad with burrata to grilled octopus to lobster doused in butter, washed down with wine that our waiter paired with each dish.
After a night of epic sleep to the sound of waves, we woke up super early on the foggy Friday morning before our ferry to the Vineyard to take these photos and watch the sunrise. It was such a special, quiet time to be there. I wore this off-shoulder dress (only $50!) for an easy breezy look. It’s my first off-shoulder piece and although I’m still not 100% sold on the trend, I like this dress because of its simplicity and how comfortable it is.
