Life Lately: Volume 14

Spring Blazer

Greetings from Charleston, friends! This might be my new favorite city, and I’ve only been here for a day. Everything is so picturesque, the people are so nice, and the food is insane.

Despite the intense blizzard we had on Tuesday, I had an insanely productive week before traveling. Now that I’m feeling more like myself, I’m able to accomplish more in each day which feels so great. I pounded out a ton of work on Monday-Wednesday so that I can enjoy my little vacation to the fullest this weekend.

Our kitchen project is coming along too. The cabinets are all painted and back in place with new chrome hardware, and the backsplash is finished too. We haven’t even installed the new countertops or added an island yet, and it already looks like a brand new room. I’m so happy with how it’s coming together!

On Wednesday night, Victoria arrived in Connecticut, and we headed to Terrain for dinner. Yesterday morning we woke up early and flew to Charleston where we’ve been having just the best time ever. Follow along on my Insta stories to catch all the fun.

This is probably one of my last girl’s trips before the baby comes, and I feel so grateful for this time to enjoy my friends without feeling any guilt of leaving my child at home.

From Around the Web

Shop the Photo: Before you even ask, here is my lace cami (or in black here) and necklace from the above image. I love love love this outfit and can’t wait to recreate it once I can fit back into this shirt.

But First, Let Me Get a Selfie: This post from The Everygirl on how social media is ruining milestones in your life is spot on. I’m so grateful that Snapchat didn’t exist when I got married!

Professional Baby Names: Out of all the weird baby sh*t I’ve heard, this might take the cake. You can now pay up to $29,000 to have your baby professionally named… by a complete stranger! What?!

Put a Pom On It: I think I really need this striped clutch with colorful pom poms in my life. I’m heading somewhere warm in a few weeks, and it would be perfect for the trip, don’t you think?

How to Live Longer… According to Italians: There is a village in Italy where over 300 people are over 100 years old. Learn their secrets in this video. Hint: It includes anchovies, wine, and rosemary.

Grieving a Miscarriage: These illustrations in the New York Times about grieving a miscarriage are spot on.

Stripes & Gingham: This new J.Crew ruffle sleeved top is striped with gingham sleeves. How perfect is it? And it’s only $39.

Pass the Heinz: All of you Mad Men fans will be excited by this news. Heinz is using the ad campaign that Peggy and Don came up with in the show. As my sister so eloquently put it, “Welcome to a world where reality stars are your president and fictional ad men are creating real ad campaigns. #2017”

Studio Goals: My friend Eva created the most bright and inviting studio ever in her gorgeous house. It’s where we shot our baby announcement! Tour her studio here.

Kitchen Island: I got a ton of advice from you guys about what to do with our kitchen island in the updated space. I think we’re going to go with a butcher block top so that it’s extra functional. I found this one from Crate and Barrel that I love. I think we might pull the trigger! It has a great price tag too. We’re also going to pick up two of these Serena & Lily stools to match our chairs. They’re on the pricey side but I just adore them.

Productivity Tips: Mackenzie shared three tips for increased productivity. I love her post, but also love seeing pictures of her gorgeous new home and that sweet pup!

Hat Trick: Grace looked too cute in my Hat Attack hat! I love how she paired it with a flirty dress and sandals.

Model Behavior: Speaking of my hat, Carly literally looks like a model wearing it in Bermuda. So gorgeous!

Society Social x Lilly Pulitzer: I’m beyond proud of my girl Roxy for her big partnership with Lilly Pulitzer. They created a limited edition bar cart together that’s just to die for. Read about the partnership here.

Golf Hypocrisy: The Daily Show nailed it with this comparison of Trump and Obama and their golf habits and how the media is covering both.

What I’m Reading: I randomly Luckiest Girl Alive in my house (someone must have left it here) and I read it in two days. It was the ultimate page turner, and I can’t wait for Reese Witherspoon to turn it into a movie. The big twist will seriously shock you!

What I’m Watching: Are you guys watching Homeland this season? Anel and I are so into it. The season started out slowly but now it’s crazy intense!

I totally agree! Do you think he’ll ever get back to “normal”? I hope so! Looks like he’s about to kick some serious butt either way 🙂
