Happy Friday and happy Memorial Day weekend! I can’t believe the first (un)official summer weekend is here. I know the time between now and Labor Day will fly by, as it always does, but I’m looking forward to it nonetheless.

Yesterday, I drove up to my dad’s house in New Hampshire for a few days of R&R with my family and to see some childhood friends. Even though the weather has been less than stellar, it’s always nice to get home. Tomorrow evening I’ll head back because Anel will be coming home from a week visiting his family in Bosnia.

He rarely travels for more than a night, so Boots and I were seriously missing him all week. About four days in, Boots started getting kind of down so I had to make sure he had lots of extra love and exercise so that he wouldn’t think too much about missing his dad. Pit bulls are so sensitive, it’s insane!

I myself was totally off because without him here to hangout with, I ended up working later and later every night, and would finally emerge from my office every night at 11pm… way past my normal old lady bed time. Without him here to stop me, I created a blogging monster, ha.

It was nice, however, to be completely on my own schedule and eat like a single gal for a few days.

I’ll be taking Monday off for the holiday, but back to our regularly scheduled programming on Tuesday. I hope you all have a great long weekend, full of activities that make you happy!

Currently listening. Thank you all so much for your Podcast recs. I’ve subscribed to a bunch of them and listened to the first three episodes of Convicted on my drive yesterday. I loved it!
