Life Lately: Volume 67

I had a weird week that started out on the low note of a lot of anxiety and ended a lot better after some self care and a whole lot of productivity. I’m headed into the weekend feeling good and excited about a few things on the horizon.

This weekend Anel is taking Amalia to New Hampshire, and I am very excited for some one-on-one time with my little Luca. The kid never gets to be an only child and I’m sure he will be very happy for all of his mama’s attention for a few days.

He is getting chattier and seemingly has more words every day. His current favorite phrase is “Hey Google Baby Shark” which comes out as “ehh goo goo bah bah sha” and it makes us all giggle every time he says it trying to get his jam to play.

What happened to Maya? This story was devastating. I had all kinds of emotions reading about Maya, a 10-year-old girl whose parents were wrongly accused of child abuse. But it is a fascinating read and makes you think a lot about what you would do in the same situation. Trigger warning: child abuse.

It’s gotten awkward to wear a mask. It couldn’t feel more different than two years ago mask-wise, right?

The Grace Atwood x Sarah Flint collaboration is beautiful and so her. Congratulations, Grace!

Can you get hooked on melatonin? I take it pretty often because I’m such a terrible sleeper without it but this article made me think twice and I’m going to try and figure out how to cut it out if possible.

I love Carly’s round-up of holiday travel essentials.

I finally tried the cult-favorite Briogeo deep conditioning hair mask last night and have to admit that my hair looks and feels extra smooth today. I can see what all the hype is about.

Kat wrote the most beautiful cookbook I’ve ever seen. I tried a few of her recipes at her book launch party this week and they were all incredible.

Even Walmart sells sex now. Walmart is the last place that I would expect to see sex toys and sex wellness products, but here we are. It’s great to see that sexual wellness is top of mind and becoming more mainstream.

A fantastic big, juicy roundup of fall TV, movie, and book recommendations from Cup of Jo.

The blazer jacket I’m wearing above is such a great classic piece for fall.

7 holiday trends that you’ll see everywhere this year. I’m especially excited about the first one.

A super cute tartan dress for the holiday season at a great price too. This black watch skirt would also look amazing with a black bodysuit and boots for a party.

31 Thanksgiving desserts that aren’t pie… like apple cider caramel cake and pumpkin spice tiramisu. Yum!

The holiday nap dress in black watch plaid for holiday is so so good! I also love this silhouette.
