I hope you’re all having a Good Friday (the joke that never gets old)! We have a big weekend in the Dzafic house. Luca is turning one on Easter Sunday so it will be a mix of egg hunts, chocolate bunnies, presents for our little guy, and a car-themed cake for his little family birthday party.
The photo above is making me giggle today because it was originally supposed to be a shot of Luca with his 12-month age card for his baby book. The kid was not having it. He wanted to be in a picture with his mama, and his sister’s purple hairbrush. Naturally. #thisisone.
I will give a full update on our little Lukey on Monday and will be sobbing about his age for the rest of the weekend. My kids’ birthdays make me so emotional every single year. It’s all going too quickly!
I’m feeling very grateful for their health and safety now and always.

HIGH & LOW
High: I drove down to Philly for the day on Monday to help my sister organize and decorate the nursery for her second baby girl who is due at the end of May. It was so fun to go through all of the baby clothes and get the room all set up for my future niece. I am just dying to meet her! Getting some alone time with my girl Helen was pretty fab too.
Low: Anel and I both had seasonal allergies kick in this week which is always a bummer. I have some remedies that work (no dairy, less or no alcohol, saline spray, and a Netti pot) so I’ve been able to keep them under control but it’s always so ironic that as soon as the weather turns nice, we all start to feel garbage-y!
AROUND THE WEB
A tour of Aerin Lauder’s Hamptons home: Fun fact… I was once invited to an event at her Hamptons house when she first launched AERIN. I did pilates on her porch, lunched by her pool, and got a tour of her ginger jar room. It was a blogging highlight for sure.
Why the past 10 years of American life have been uniquely stupid. You probably don’t even have to read the article to know what it says…
My favorite slip skirt: I wore this skirt (in lavender) to an event last week and got so many compliments on it. I also have her in navy and blush pink. She is a classic and is currently on sale.
To Botox or not to Botox: Jess examined both sides of the coin in an interesting and informative post.
A gentler, better way to change minds: For when you’re arguing with someone who has different values and opinions than you do.
Dennis Gross Daily Peel: This is a new favorite addition to my skincare routine. I’ve written about them before but now have a code if you’re interested in trying them. My code is JULIA20 and it gives you 20% off the entire Dennis Gross site.
Transparency note: I partnered with Dennis Gross on Instagram. Inclusion in this blog post is not a part of my contract with them. I’m just sharing again here because of my love for the product!
In pursuit of hotness: This whole article blew my mind. It’s hard to believe that there are entire online communities dedicated to looking more attractive.
Yuzu kosho deviled eggs: I never met a deviled egg I didn’t like and these look a cut above.
A crop top for oldies: I just bought this. And yes I just called myself an oldie.
Sanity vs vanity: Thank you for this post, Liz. I needed it. It’s been a tough road post-partum with Luca vanity-wise for me and reading this came at the perfect time.
A great bodysuit: I was influenced by Kat on this one. I can’t wait to style this bodysuit (I got it in sage green) for summer.
The best summer cocktails: Grace’s updated post from last year is giving me all of the cocktail inspo. On another Grace note, I’m excited to try some of her favorite face masks.
