Tips for Surviving Holiday Anxiety

As a child, the holidays were always a magical time for me, full of family, food, sparkle lights, Santa, and presents. But as I grew up, and mostly when my parents split up 15 years ago, the holidays became trickier, and new emotions crept in along with the excitement.  I still love the holiday season but certain aspects of it can be overwhelming at times.

Sustainable Gift Guide

I asked my friends at Sustainable Westport to share their favorite sustainable gifts to give this holiday season and they understood the assignment! Check out their incredible comprehensive list of sustainable gifts you can buy online and scroll down if you're local to support some wonderful local businesses that have lots of sustainable gift options.

Thank you Johanna and Gately for this beautiful guide and for everything you're doing in our community!

Gifts for Littles

Everyone likes buying gifts for kids because of the joy on their faces when they open something they love. This year's list is for smaller kids (3-7ish) and based on toys and games that Amalia has and loves and the things on her personal wish list. Plus a few other things that I've found on other lists and around the internet this holiday season.

Harvest Salad

With Thanksgiving just four days away, we are doing our last-minute planning and shopping for the big day. I wanted to share the salad we plan to serve alongside our turkey, stuffing, and mashed potatoes. This is a great one because it's full of fall flavors but packs a nutritional punch as a bonus. It's tangy, sweet, savory, crunchy, and makes the perfect side dish for dinner or works well on its own with some added protein as a full lunch or dinner meal.
