Over a year ago, Haverhill had asked me if I wanted one of their custom birthstones necklaces and I told them at the time that I'd like to wait until I got pregnant so I could fill it with birthstones for the entire family.
My friend Liz wrote a post a few years ago when she was pregnant with her second boy (she's now on her third!) about her fears around having a second baby and I remember tearing up while reading it at the time. The Everymom posted a similar article earlier this year. I've reread both posts recently since this topic has been on my own mind a lot lately and they resonated a whole lot more now that I'm on my way to becoming a mom of two.
I think that every mother's fantasy is to have someone else clean her home and pick up after her children. It's a nonstop ongoing battle that can never be won!
In one of my very favorite partnerships of all time (seriously), last week Merry Maids of Fairfield came over to clean my entire house for me.
Our holiday gifting strategy for Amalia (and our future baby boy!) is as such: She gets one present from Santa plus a stocking full of little things, one present from mommy and daddy (or one from each of us), and, eventually, one present from her brother. Her grandparents, aunties, uncles, and cousins spoil her during the holiday season so we are steadfast in our philosophy of not going overboard.
