Lately I’ve been thinking a lot about the fact that there are many different parenting styles. Instead of dragging other people down if yours don’t align, we should be learning bits and pieces from different parents and not judging them when they’re different. So today I’m re-launching Mom Talk as a series where a bunch of moms give their honest opinions on a single topic.
I'm excited about February's wellness challenge because it's one I've been wanting to do for a long time and if I have all of you holding me accountable, maybe it will actually happen once and for all.
This month is all about breaking a bad habit.
So it was truly kismet when I made a new friend last month (one of the moms from Amalia's daycare) who is a psychology professor and researcher who studies...wait for it...habits and self-control.
February 1st means two things. First and foremost, Dry January is over and I can't wait to have a cocktail at dinner tonight with friends. I'll give an update on that next week when I announce February's wellness challenge, but overall it went really well and I feel amazing slash am wondering why I ever drink in the first place.
At the end of 2018 I was making some big changes in to my mental and emotional health, cleaning out the bad vibes and making room for a fresh, less anxious start. Part of that was to really get a handle on organizing what was easily the messiest room in our house. The room, as you know by now, functions both as my closet and my office (#cloffice) and I literally cannot be productive in a messy space so it was a big priority for me to set up some systems to not only get it that way but keep it that way.
