On one of our nights at the beach, my grandparent decided that they wanted to take the entire family out to dinner. All 17 of us got fancied up for an Italian feast. When we were getting dressed, I knew that I wanted to wear this skirt, also seen here, but was sick of pairing it with plain old black or white tops.
This weekend was quite eventful. We flew from Martha's Vineyard to Newport Beach, CA for our annual family reunion on my mom's side. I got to spend some quality time with my cousins, aunts, uncles, and grandparents and soak up some sunshine and salty ocean air at the same time. One of our clan had a body surfing accident which landed him in the hospital.
Happy Friday! Here is a fun, simple, and easy to make summertime drink with my new favorite vodka. I usually hate flavored vodka, but this one is super light with hints of elderflower, white tea, apple, and citrus. Enjoy one during one of the last weekends of summer!
Ingredients:
-1 part Absolut Wild Tea vodka
-3 parts club soda
-3 ice cubes
-Splash of lemon juice
-Lemon wedge
My dad's wife is a phenomenal cook. Like me, she is also a graduate of the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, so she likes to keep things healthy. As an Italian family and lovers of Italian food, it's hard to steer away from oily dishes like lasagna and eggplant parmesan, but she found a great alternative to one of the classics here.
On Friday, we flew back to Martha's Vineyard for 4 more days of beach time, grilled steak, the annual summer fair, and lots of babies. Family friends joined us with their beautiful blue-eyed baby Sophia (pictured below). She and Jackson were adorable playing on the beach! One of the highlights of my weekend was when Sophia's father, a trader on Wall Street, told me that he loves reading Lemons & Loafers during the lunch breaks of his busiest days to get his mind off of work.
