Keepin’ Cool, Lookin’ Hot

A heat-wave finally hit New York. Yesterday, the rains cleared, the sun shone, and the humidity...humidified. The only thing that I felt comfortable in was a loose and flowy J.Crew maxi dress. Long dresses are perfect for hot summer days because they keep you cool but you look elegant and stylish. Pair it with a big belt and gladiators or a statement necklace and gold sandals and you're good to go!

Summer’s Here

Memorial Day, in my mind, marks the start of summer which means the first of many beach weekends, bike-rides, picnics, corn on the cob, and watermelon. This weekend we hiked, biked, ran, and laid out in the sunshine. It was the perfect 4-day vacation. More photos to come later this week of the farmer's market, watermelon salad, and cookie sandwiches.

Vegan Spinach Pesto

I can't ever get enough pesto in my life during the summer months. It's rare that I stray from traditional basil, but this spinach pesto really hit the spot for a summery dinner last night. I served it over brown rice pasta with a fresh arugula salad and sweet steamed corn. It would be great as a dip with crudite or as a spread on fish or chicken breast.

Sweet Words

Sometimes you need someone to remind you to smile when you're having a bad day. Unfortunately, that doesn't happen very often so get proactive and remind yourself with Kate Spade's "smile" necklace! Or maybe you're feeling like nothing is going your way, so why not let yourself know that it's a "yes" day with CB2's "say yes" wall art?

Pops of Pink

We can't seem to get enough rain in New York City so I have to brighten up this day myself with flashes of fuchsia and pretty peonies. Enjoy the pink-fest on this dreary Tuesday!

I found most of these images through Pinterest, my new favorite place to browse gorgeous images. Come visit my vision boards for some colorful inspiration.
