If you’ve been following me on Twitter and Instagram, you probably already know that as of last week I started a job as the Head of Marketing for a new health and wellness start up: A position that I love at a company that I feel passionate about!
Remember when I made a big to do out of quitting my full time job to run my store last March? Well I was kind of embarrassed to admit that I missed working full time so it took me a few weeks to publicly tell you all but here we are and I’ll fill you in on the deets.
I’ve been working for myself (read my 10 tips on working from home) for the last 9 months and have thoroughly enjoyed attending blogger events and parties, creating my own schedule, working out on my time, and having the freedom to travel and work from anywhere. It was a huge blessing and I’ll forever be thankful for that time.
On the other hand working for yourself is no easy task. You can read all about that here. My husband and I went back and forth weighing the pros and cons of me going back to work full time but in the end, I was losing my mind a little bit so decided to go for it, especially because I was offered such an amazing job with a great team of people.
I’ll still be blogging here daily and running my online shop. I don’t know if I’ll have time to sleep but hey, at least I won’t be bored, right?
I’d love to tell you all about the company that I’m working for but until it launches officially, we’re not going public with the details. I’ll give you two hints: Healthy. Snacks.
So off I go, on my next life adventure. I hope that you join me!
Congratulations! A life without change is boring. Cheers to the next chapter!
Congrats, Julia! I know the feeling of “do I? / don’t I?” all too well! My first “try” at full-time branding and design was in early 2011 … then I went back to work for 6 months, hated the job and tried again. I would never be opposed to working for a brand or company if the right opportunity presented itself – there’s a lot of good in “doing your own thing” but like you said there are also days you feel a little crazy and wonder when you’ll sleep!! Best to you on the new venture and continued blogging ventures! xx!
Totally agree. It’s all about the perfect opportunity. I’ve realized anything less than that isn’t worth it for me!
Congrats on the new gig!!
Congrats on your new adventure! I recently lost my job that I hated & I refused to settle for another similar position. I was going to wait for the perfect opportunity. Unfortunately, real life set in, I was bored for 3 months & I realized that I needed money. So starting next week, I’ll be settling for another fulltime position in a field I have no interest. Hopefully, a miracle will happen soon. *Fingers crossed*
