What a exciting week I had, you guys! I hit the halfway mark in my pregnancy (can you believe I’m already 20 weeks in?), and finally started our baby girl’s nursery design. We’ve partnered with Serena & Lily, one of my all time favorite home decor brands, for the project, and let me just tell you that it’s going to be an epic baby room.
I’ll be sharing more details about that soon, but for now just know that it’s pink, white, and adorable!
We also started our kitchen project, which we’ve been meaning to get to for months now. I think when we realized that we’ll have a kid in less than five months, it lit a fire under us. We’re making a bunch of cosmetic changes to it (on a seriously tight budget), so I’m going to be sharing that process with you as well. Lots of fun happenings in the Dzafic household!
A non-baby related announcement is that the hat I designed with Hat Attack is finally available for purchase. I’m so obsessed with the navy and white ribbon, and will be wearing mine all summer long. You can buy it for 15% off with code LS15 this month only, so get on it!
This weekend…
We’re heading to Lowe’s to start our kitchen, and are finally painting our spare bedroom where I’ll be moving my office to make room for the nursery. Apparently nesting is a real thing… and I am in the midst of it.
PS…I updated my Shop Page with a March wish list and an entire tab dedicated to maternity clothes I’m loving. Happy shopping!
From around the web
A Bosnian Story: One of my dad’s business school students is a Bosnian immigrant with a powerful story, similar to Anel’s. She is also an amazing speaker and shares her family’s journey in a beautiful way. If you have a few free minutes, I highly suggest that you watch this video of her speaking.
Another Great Sale: You already know about Shopbop’s big sale, but everything at Ann Taylor LOFT is 40% off and you don’t want to miss it! There are so many cute spring dresses and tops for crazy affordable prices. I’m in love with this yellow floral frock and this cute one-sleeved striped shirt! Shop the sale.
NYC Apartment Tour: Kat has incredible style, and it’s not surprising that her home decor reflects that as well. I got so inspired by her West Village apartment tour featured on My Domaine last week.
Gingham Skirt: I can’t wear it right now, but if you can, please buy it for me. This skirt is too darling not to be worn!
Manicures by Inmates? This heartwarming video about a woman who started a cosmetology school inside of a men’s prison made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. I would totally get a mani from one of these guys. Would you?
Maternity Dress: I finally caved and bought a maternity dress. I picked this one because the price was good and I knew I’d wear it often between now and July. And because it’s striped, obviously! It comes in seven colors, so there’s something for everyone.
Cooking for RiRi: I am weirdly interested in what celebrities eat, so I was super excited to read this interview with Rihanna’s personal chef. Talk about a dream job!
Red Stripes: I just bought this shirt in red from J.Crew and it’s making me so happy. It’s the same one I had from a few years ago in blue (seen here) that is still one of my all time favorites.
Whole Foods Secrets: A former employee share the best ways to shop at Whole Foods to make the experience easier, faster, and more affordable.
Currently Watching: I loved reading Little Big Lies last year, so when I saw that HBO was turning it into a mini-series, I jumped right on it. So far, I think they’ve done an awesome job taking the story to the screen. And the cast is top notch! Have you guys seen it yet? Thoughts?
Pink Pom: How cute are these fuzzy blush pink pom earrings?
48 Hours in Paris: Grace’s Paris trip recap made me want to go back to Paris so badly. Baby’s first trip? JK…
Tattoos for the Greater Good: Maybe there really is hope for this country! I love how these tattoo artists are spreading love and (literally) destroying hate. Watch the video.
Cuyana’s Latest Hits: You guys know about my deep love for Cuyana, and their new arrivals are so good. This silk shirt is what my dreams are made of and I’m dying for this cute backpack. I always use one for my days in the city, and this is just so chic.
11 Secrets of Irresistible People: Because who doesn’t want to be irresistible?

I am loving Big Little Lies! The episodes suck you right in. I too read the book a few years back and think casting Reese as Madeline was spot on.
Reese is BRILLIANT as Madeline and Nicole Kidman is actually surprisingly perfect as Celeste too, right?
Thank you for including me!!! I NEED to start Big Little Lies. The book was one of my favorites! xx
How have you not watched it yet? You need to binge this weekend!!
I’m looking forward to seeing your kitchen reno take shape! I’m also dying to start Big Little Lies – maybe this weekend!

I am too! Seriously, never been so excited about a home project 🙂 You have to start it, you’ll love!
I’m sure you have some connection with some designers, but Old Navy and Gap maternity wear is so good and so affordable. I especially loved their maternity tank tops and still wear then 8 months postpartum because they are so damn comfortable. Also, pro tip that has been passed down to me from many, many women, if you want to breastfeed, buy nursing tanks first since your boobs won’t settle on a size for a month or so postpartum and then your spending nursing bras might not fit! Also H&M maternity stuff rocks, especially their nursing tanks. Also more advice that you didn’t ask for!
Thank you so much, Verhanika! I Just bought a bunch of tees at Old Navy and can’t wait for them to arrive. Good to know with the nursing tanks too. That’s a great tip 🙂
How is that dress? I’ve been eyeing similar dresses but worried about ordering one and then finding out it’s too flimsy/see-though/etc. I’d like a nice heavy knit but it’s hard to tell online 🙂
I LOVE LOVE LOVE it! But you can always return with Nordstrom so no risk 🙂
