I love cooking and hosting this time of year. I’m hosting Thanksgiving in a few days and then Christmas next month and have been itching to shake things up a little bit with what I’m serving, so I’ve been saving recipe ideas for the last few weeks that looked fun and different. Deviled eggs with spicy tomato jam? Earl Grey cake? I mean how good do they sound? Please note I have yet to actually try any of them yet so can’t speak to the final outcome but thought I’d share my list in case you need some inspo!
The broccoli Caesar will for sure be on my Thanksgiving table.
1. Deviled Eggs with Spicy Tomato Jam and Pistachio Dukkah (Food52): Swap tangy Greek yogurt for mayonnaise, and kick the flavor up a notch with tomato jam. These are not your grandmother’s deviled eggs!
2. Cider Braised Pot Roast with Crispy Sage Butter Potatoes (Half Baked Harvest): A one pot dish is music to my ears, and this one looks especially cozy!
3. Earl Grey Chocolate Soufflé Cake (Eyeswoon): I don’t have a huge sweet tooth, but even I’m drooling over this slightly gooey yet light-as-air cake. It’s suggested you serve with champagne, and who am I to argue?
4. Four Cheese Roasted Garlic Alfredo Stuffed Spaghetti Squash (Half Baked Harvest): This healthy(ish?) take on spaghetti Alfredo looking intriguing!
5. Vanilla Cinnamon Maple Whiskey Sour (Half Baked Harvest): Okay I’m definitely shaking these up for Anel and me, I’m pretty sure we already have all the ingredients on hand. As an extra perk, they can very easily be made as a mocktail.
6. Hot Honey Baked Sweet Potatoes (Eric Kim NY Times): Goat cheese whipped cream and hot honey…need I say any more?
7. Triple Chocolate Peppermint Cookies (Food & Wine): How fun would these be to bring to a cookie swap?
8. Parmigiano Reggiano Cheesecake (Food 52): Why have I never thought to incorporate savory cheeses into my baking? This looks heavenly.
9. Broccoli Caesar Salad (The Pioneer Woman): Upgrade your Caesar Salad game! An unexpected side dish that I’m almost positive will be a hit.
