Throwing a rosé party has been on my summer bucket list for three months now and I finally did it! I really wanted to set up a beautiful evening on my patio for some girlfriends, and we took these photos of it before they arrived. TBH, I don’t usually put so much effort into entertaining but it felt so nice to spend the time putting it together and enjoying the evening as if I were at a fancy party, when in reality I was at home with a baby sleeping in the next room!
As the night went on, the market lights and tall candles felt really romantic and pretty.
I’m not the best at tablescapes so I asked my friend who works at Juliska to give me some tips. She suggested doing two different table setting and alternating them. It gives the table a little more life but also goes together well. We mixed and matched melamine plates and placed napkins between the dinner and salad plates. I also decided to alternate wine glasses for each place setting and used both stemless and stemmed glasses.
Then I placed flower arrangements from Winston Flowers between each candlestick for a pretty wedding table vibe.
I displayed all the wines so people could see them, then promptly put them in an ice bucket and opened one at a time so nothing got wasted. My friends came over after we had all eaten with our kids or families so I literally just served the cookies and wine… The flatware and plates were pretty much just for decor! Although after a few bottles, I brought out chips and salsa 🙂
The whole soirée was a good reminder to create beautiful moments for myself, something that has become more rare since having a baby. It’s easy to just throw quick meals together and eat them in front of the TV, especially on nights when Anel isn’t home, but I try to at least use placemats and light candles when we eat together.
I haven’t entertained much in the last year either but I hope this kicks off more of it because I had forgotten how fun it can be!
I know you guys will ask about our table too. A friend of mine does PR for Stori Modern and sent us a beautiful dining set to test out this summer and we’ve been loving it so much. It’s the perfect size for us and the chairs are big and comfy without being over the top. It looks like wood but the whole thing is actually metal which makes it super low maintenance.
Plus it has a hole for an umbrella which is surprisingly hard to find in bigger outdoor tables. We use that for BBQs during the day because the sun can get really hot on our deck.
And if you’re wondering, here are a few of my favorite rosés:
- Whispering Angel (obvs)- We first served this at our wedding 6 years ago!
- Aix- We drank this on our trip to Provence right after we got engaged in Paris and I’m seeing it everywhere here now!
- Miraval- A little pricey but so crisp
- Summer Water- Not the best but great for the price!
- What are your faves?

Looks so pretty! I love the pink and blue tones with the lights. Not a huge Rose person but perhaps I just haven’t tried the right one.
Keep trying! There are some really bad ones out there but some are really delicious.
What a gorgeous table! What did you end up serving with the rose?
It was after we had all eaten with our families so literally just rosé and cookies. Aka sugar bomb central!
What a fun idea! And the table looks lovely! Rose is my favorite, I love anything that looks pretty and tastes even better, haha. Can’t wait to try your favorites! xAllie

Let me know what you think of them!
Did you invite any guests or serve any food?
Yes! It was after we had all eaten at home so just served cookies and rosé literally! After a few bottles I brought out chips and salsa too 🙂
Why do you need forks and knives for cookies, salsa, and chips?
What, you don’t cut up your cookies with a fork and knife? JK 🙂 I just thought they looked pretty and I wanted to set up a nice table!
Love Wölffer’s Summer in a Bottle Rosé… not to mention it comes in the prettiest bottle.
Oh I always see that bottle, it’s gorgeous! I’ve never bought it but I’ll try it now thanks!
Um, a cookies and wine party sounds like perfection!!
I would have to agree. If only I could eat like that every night…
❤ I love this set-up and the table is super cute! The macaroons look sooo good. I made my first ever batch of these (vanilla lavender) a few weeks okay for a photoshoot with my bar cart. I left them on the counter over-night to cool off. My husband ate all of them when we got home from work…he thought I left the extras for him ♀️. My second batch wasn’t as pretty so I had to go buy some. LOL.

You MADE them??? I’m so impressed! And so mad at your hubby haha
I absolutely adore Miraval! I recently tried Educated Guess Rosé and it was absolutely delicious! Full bodied and not too sweet, such a treat.
For sparkling, I’m a Mumm Napa girl 100%!
Loved this post, truly 🙂
My favorite rose is Charles and Charles. It’s like $10 and we always have several bottles in the house. Check it out!
In 2019 you should try Fleurs de Prairie Cotes de Provence Rose – it is so good!!
Thanks for the tip, I will!
