The first-ever J.Crew pre-fall collection is here and it’s really good. I’m working on building my fall capsule wardrobe now, so I bought a few pieces to get that started and wanted to share all of my recommendations from the collection here because everything is 30% off (or 40% off for $200+) through 7/25 with code ADDTOBAG. Transparency note: This post is not sponsored but I got a sneak peek at the collection.
My entire fall capsule wardrobe will go live around Labor Day, but here are a few pieces that will help me get it started. Sidebar before I get started, I love this sherpa pullover for Amalia!
Leopard sweater blazer: You guys know I love me a sweater blazer (see it here and here in orange and here in grey) and I had to add a leopard print baby to my ever-growing collection. This is for sure going to be my favorite piece for fall, I can already tell! And getting it for 30% off was pretty nifty too.
Leopard booties: I have this pair from last year and wore them throughout the fall and winter quite often. They were my go-to boots to the point where my friends finally asked me if I ever changed my shoes. They might not seem like a classic staple that fits into a capsule wardrobe but I consider leopard a neutral at this point and they are 100% part of mine. You can see them styled here and here, and here.
Leopard slides: If the booties feel over the top for you, these slides are another great option. I have a similar pair from another brand but I get complimented every time I wear them and also consider them a staple in my fall wardrobe. You can see them styled here and here.
Silk slip skirt: Slip skirts seem to be the hottest trend this summer and fall and I finally caved and bought one. I got this in blush pink and look forward to wearing it with cozy sweaters when it cools down and cute camis for the end of summer. It would also look so cute with the leopard booties… I see an outfit post in my future!
Camo sweatshirt: The last thing I bought from this collection is a camo sweatshirt. It might seem kind of random but I would argue that camo is the new leopard print and leopard is the new black. I will live in this sweatshirt with joggers, black jeans, and with leggings on weekends. I might buy a matching one for Amalia too…
Striped dress: I did not buy this dress because I own one too many long-sleeved striped dresses. That said, I believe that a striped dress is a fall staple. I used to wear mine with a blazer and boots when I worked in an office. It can also be paired with pumps for a more dressed up work environment. I love the square neckline on this one.
9″ high-rise eco jean: I shared that J.Crew makes eco-friendly swimsuits. They also make eco-friendly denim including this pair which I have in the dark wash. You can read more about J.Crew’s dedication to improving their impact on the environment here.
