Rewear It: Sweater Blazer

Lemon Stripes in a J.Crew Sweater Blazer

Ahh the good ole’ sweater blazer. It never gets old and is always the perfect layer. Orange may have been an aggressive choice for the latest addition to my SB collection, but she is also my favorite. I originally wore it here with a pretty floral dress. I had a meeting with a potential new marketing client last week and spent a good 20 minutes trying to figure out how to tie my scarf, but then loved the look.

The blazer and jeans have been major staples in my closet so it ended up being the perfect outfit for this month’s re-wear it post. I hope these blog posts encourage you to get re-inspired by what you have in your own closet!

Sweater Blazer: At this point, I think you know how much I love myself a good sweater blazer. I have this one in three colors (grey, navy, and now orange) and I wear them all the time. J.Crew Factory makes one that is almost identical to it (my grey one is from there) and it’s about half the price which is great. They don’t have as many colors but if you’re looking for a great layering piece for work, I highly recommend it and can speak to the quality of the blazer from both brands.

I last wore the orange one here, the grey Factory version here, and the navy one here.

Jeans: I always reach for this pair first. The J.Crew 10″ high rise toothpick jeans are, in my opinion, the best-fitting jeans I’ve ever owned. They’re currently 50% off ($60!) so if you don’t own a pair already, this is the time to snatch one up. I size down because I think they look more flattering when they’re really snug on the hips.

I’ve also worn them here and here.

Scarf: Tuckernuck sent me this scarf a few weeks ago, and I think it’s just stunning. It looks like a classic Hermes silk scarf but for only $48. The only problem with it is that it’s so large, I never knew how to wear it! I asked my friend who is a personal stylist what to do and she suggested tying it around my neck like a fabulous Parisian woman. Not gonna lie, it took me about 10 tries to get it right, but I finally did.

Pumps: This is the first time I’ve worn these beautiful striped pumps. I love them so much that I didn’t want to ruin them, but I’m also obsessed with them and couldn’t let them sit on the shelf any longer. I rarely wear heels during the day but I was meeting with one of the fancier people I know that morning so I went for it.

If you’re not into heels, these Mary Jane flats in the same fabric are adorable too.

Coin Necklace: I used to wear my Julie Vos gold coin pendant every day for probably two straight years. I took a little break but I picked it up last week and realized how much I missed one of my all-time favorite pieces of jewelry.

Transparency note: Starting today and going forward, I’ll be using the word “gifted” in the product list (like the one below) when something has been given to me by a brand. I used to use “c/o” but I don’t think that was clear enough.

J.Crew Sweater Blazer (Comes in 8 colors and J.Crew Factory makes a very similar one for less than half the price) / Similar Pink Sweater ($68) / Jeans (50% off!) / Scarf (Gifted)/ Sunglasses / Pumps (Gifted, 40% off)

OMG I love this outfit! I have a major scarf fetish, plus those colors are just gorgeous! I’ve actually never been much of a sweater blazer fan, but that orange one might have made me a convert!

Do you mind if I ask what size you are wearing in the blazer? I’m definitely not as small as you are, especially up top, but the reference would be helpful because I seriously need that in my closet.

Thank you so much! Blazer is a small but it is actually a little big on me and I’m usually a small so I’d suggest sizing down from your usual size.
