Shopping My Closet: Outfit 4

Happy Friday, friends! It has been an amazing and emotional week with the official grand opening of Anel’s new studio. We are both exhausted but have happy hearts. We also both wanted to extend a thank you to everyone who commented on my post and this Instagram about his story. Your notes brought us to tears and were so kind and up-lifting. My husband has been through a lot and sometimes we forget that in the day to day minutia of our lives. Your notes and messages reminded me even more about how lucky I am to have found him and how lucky he is to (literally) be here at all.

This week it also somehow became November which means it’s holiday gift guide season! I’m already planning out and starting to work on them and my big gift guide page will launch on 11/19 so get ready! I will be doing all of the classic guides that you love, but I also want to include more guides for kids, babies, toddlers, and most importantly, gifts that give back. If you have any other ideas for gift guides, please let me know so I can get working on them ASAP.

The beginning of the holiday season and writing the post on Anel earlier this week have gotten me feeling re-inspired. I’ve been in a bit of a creative slump lately, and you may have noticed that I’ve been posting less here on Lemon Stripes. I have some fun post ideas coming up over the next few months and will be incorporating more wellness as well as some workout tips from Anel based on your requests!

Also by popular request, I’m bringing back my shop-my-closet series again today on a whim. This is the outfit I was wearing to meet up with my photographer, and we decided to shoot it because it involves so many items that I wear time and time again… And because we walked by this ridiculous tree and couldn’t not take photos. You can see the outfit I was going to change into (outfit seen here) in my bag in one of the photos below! That’s some serious behind the scenes action…

Here’s a breakdown of the look and why I love each piece of clothing involved. See my last two shop my closet posts here and here.

Slouchy Sweater: This is one of those sweaters that I want to throw on when I’m sick or tired over sweats, but it looks great over skinny jeans and boots too. They brought it back this year, although not in this green color, sadly. I also really like the burgundy

I wore it last in this post last fall.

Jeans c/o: I’ve been really into high waisted jeans lately and J.Crew has two of my favorite pairs. This one and this one. I just love they way they fit and the fact that they are stretchy but not too stretchy. They’re just a solid pair of pants that I want to put on whenever I get dressed.

I wore them last in this post last week.

J.Crew Leopard Print Booties c/o: I pretty much haven’t stopped wearing these booties since I got them a few weeks ago. Literally every time I’ve been to an event at night or out to dinner, they end up on my feet. You know by now that I have a major love for leopard print shoes, and this newest addition to my ever-growing collection is just so perfect. I love that they have a heel and isn’t uncomfortable.

I wore them last in this post last week and here on Instagram.

Orange Mark & Graham Bag: I’ve had this bag in my closet for years, and I dig it out every fall because it’s so perfectly orange. TBH I wear it from early October to the end of November and that’s about it. So if you love the bag, I recommend going with a more neutral color like the navy or camel. It really is a beautiful, well-made bag so it should be worn more than one month out of the whole year.

I wore it last in this post a million years ago…. And now I’m wishing I still had those jeans!

Gift guides for groups, like the office /work setting and for businesses that you appreciate all year long (pediatrician office, dentist, hairdresser) etc.

Gift guides that are experiences (tickets, museum membership, etc.) not more stuff hanging around the house.

I love this outfit! I don’t know if it’s the same green but on Free People’s site they have it in “Jade,” which isn’t available on Nordstrom. Looking forward to your gift guides this year!

Would love gift guides for mother- in- laws or aunts, etc. Also, gifts that a portion of proceeds are donated to important causes. And including some of the best/unique/new subscription ideas in different gift guides! Thanks 🙂
