Happy Monday! We had a really great summer weekend packed with pool parties, a visit from my sister and brother-in-law, and an actual “beach ball” at sunset on the beach. It was glorious. My sister’s dog, Delaware, will be living with us for the next two weeks and Boots is beyond happy to be spending some QT with his cousin.
I’m back today (finally!) with another re-wear it post that incorporates two very versatile summer pieces that are easy to wear together or apart. Everyone needs a favorite pair of denim shorts in their closet and for me, these are it. I reach for them multiple times a week because they’re comfortable and go with everything. The ripped look isn’t for everyone, but I love it for now. Read about each piece in this easy breezy summer outfit below.
Denim shorts: Every time I wear these shorts either my dad or Anel makes the classic dad joke about how I should have gotten a discount because they’re missing fabric. Get some new material, boys! Pun intended…
They’re actually Levi’s and only $69, but look very similar to the A.Golde pair that everyone loves which is $128. I wear these all the time over bathing suits, with a white tee for running errands, and with a sweater on cooler nights. I love them a lot and am convinced they make me look younger. I usually wear them with a tee, tank, or bodysuit and throw on a sweater at night.
Beach sweater: This J.Crew sweater was a great purchase this summer. It’s really lightweight and great for beachy nights, paired with white jeans, and over leggings for nighttime lounging. It also comes in white, beige, and melon. I love it paired with white jeans and because it’s a little see-through, It looks cute with a striped shirt underneath too. Everlane makes a similar sweater for $59.
Comfy sandals: Ok they might not be the cutest shoes I own but now that Birkenstocks are back in, I feel like these could be counted as cute… ish. Right? Maybe not right. But either way, they’re incredibly comfortable and I’m into that.
They’re on sale for 50% off right now which makes them only $39. They also come in gold, cream, brown, and black.
Pendant Necklace: Anel gave me an ASHA pendant necklace years ago for an anniversary gift (mine has Capri on it because we went there for our honeymoon). Then Ashley (the owner and designer of the brand) gave me a smaller “A” pendant when Amalia was born. I wear them together almost daily. Ashley and I became friends because her store is right next to Anel’s studio so I literally have to walk by it whenever I go in for meetings or a workout. It’s quite dangerous but also I love it!
I love her long necklaces because you can also double them up for a totally different look.
