By reader request, today’s re-wear it post features the product that gets the most wear in my closet in the fall and winter, my Dudley Stephens park slope turtleneck. I have it in multiple colors, but this one is camel. The camel color will be back in stock on December 2nd. But they just restocked black and natural blush.
I met Lauren, one of the founders of DS, at a local restaurant one day and we became fast friends. She hired me for a sponsored Instagram post about 100 years ago and the second I put on her fleece I knew the addiction was about to become real. Since then I feel like a spokesperson for the brand because I wear it so often!
The most commonly asked question I get is about sizing. I wear an XS in the Cobble Hill style because I like the longer part to be more fitted (although it makes the sleeves a bit tight) and an S in Park Slope. I normally wear Cobble Hill with leggings around the house or on weekends and you can see 4 ways that I style Park Slope here. If I could only pick one it would be Park Slope because I think it’s more versatile.
Throughout the post, I’m wearing my Karen Walker Super Duper sunglasses. I always get asked about them and if they’re worth the price. I’ve had mine for the better part of a decade so I’d say yes but these $11 dupes are pretty great too.
I had so much fun styling and shooting this post yesterday. I hope you love it!
To be clear about my relationship with DS: They do not pay me to post but they occasionally gift me fleeces. I also buy my own and love supporting this incredible brand run by two of my friends who I adore.
Outfit 1: The Everyday Lewk
It’s very hard for me not to wear some variation of this outfit every day from September-March. I have to basically force myself to put on other clothes otherwise this is all you would see. I change up the shoes from booties to flats to slides to snow boots and sometimes jeans turn into leggings on lazy days but this is what I would call my fall and winter uniform.
Dudley Stephens Fleece / J.Crew Jeans / Jenni Kayne Flats
Outfit 2: The Houndstooth
This was my favorite outfit from last fall, so I re-created it with the camel fleece and my leopard booties for a very 2019 Lemon Stripes look. I would wear this to a marketing client meeting or out to dinner with friends. I’m not the kind of person to wear head to toe neutrals but when there are multiple patterns involved, I can get behind it.
Dudley Stephens Fleece / Old J.Crew Factory Skirt (similar here) / J.Crew Booties (gifted)
Outfit 3: Hippie With a Side of Gucci
I love wearing flowy dresses with sweaters over them. I think it looks better on my body type if I also use a belt and tuck the sweater into it. To achieve this look, I fold the bottom of my fleece under itself and tuck it in around the whole belt which makes the dress look more like a skirt. It’s one of my favorite DS tricks. I also did it in this post but with a skirt.
Dudley Stephens Fleece / Gucci Belt / Mango Dress
Outfit 4: Rawr
Here we have my suburban mom “going-out look” for date nights and girls nights out. If you’ve been following along for a while you know I have an affinity for leather leggings and over-the-knee boots. Throw some leopard into the mix and you have me feeling my best!
J.Crew Sweater Blazer / Dudley Stephens Fleece / Faux Leather Leggings / Stuart Weitzman 50/50 Boots (Similar more affordable option here) / Headband
Which look is your favorite?

Love these photos, the fall background is beautiful and I now have four more outfits to copy
Yay! So glad you like it. It was such a gorgeous day.
Love these styles! Just got the cobalt camel color block for my bday, and can’t wait to try styling it! Thanks! 🙂
Send pics! I want to see how people style that one. I can’t figure out how I would wear it with the color block.
I love DS fleeces! These looks are so incredible, and really says how versatile the fleece is! I LOVE look number 2 because thats a look I sport often, ahah! But the title of look 3 made me laugh, but its great!! Love this post, Julia! Happy Tuesday!

Hahah glad you appreciated the title there 🙂
I cannot even express how happy I am to see you rocking your reusable tumbler in these photos! It drives me nuts to see so many other styled shoots that feature disposable cups and a few years back I thought up the #ReusableIsInstagrammable hashtag to try and change that culture. I really enjoy your efforts in sustainability!
I love that hashtag! I am going to start using it. And thanks for saying that too xx
I want to get a DS this fall but I’m not sure about sizing. Can you share your size? And how you feel about the sizing – ex true, snug, etc. thanks!
I wrote about it in the post but I wear a small in Park Slope and XS in Cobble Hill. The sleeves can be snug if you size down so be careful with that. Besides that, TTS!
Oops. Sorry. Was scanning while my 2yo daughter was tugging on me. Guess I should have waited for nap time. Thanks!!
Seriously love all of these!
I especially love the going-out look! Beautiful styling and beautiful background on all these photos.
Thanks Lisa! We had so much fun with it.
I feel like the DS into a skirt/belt trick is going to be life changing! I’ve always wondered how you got that look without it looking bulky.
It’s fairly life-changing I’m not gonna lie. It takes a few times to nail it but once you do, it’s a game-changer.
Hello,
I really liked all the looks, what a great showcase how versatile this turtleneck is. My question is a practical one, would you recommend it to someone who gets overheated easily, I am curious if I would be sweating in it majority of the time, especially when I am indoors majority of the time. Please say I will be OK since it’s such a cute turtleneck.
Love this post and all your re-wears! Just got my first DS (Park Slope in Cobalt) and after one wear I’m already eyeing my next purchase! Debating between a Cobble Hill (pockets!) or another Park Slope and maybe in the Terry Fleece (loving the your Ice Blue collab shade). So many options!
