This week was all about nesting. I decided that I had to clean every single window in my house, inside and out and we finally organized our garage. It felt amazing! I also got a ton of work done and was extra productive for the first time in weeks. The sun kinddddd of came out finally, and this weekend is supposed to be beautiful.
Last night, my friend Lizzie was in town from San Francisco and we had a fun night of catching up and grilling. She’s one of those friends who I see every six months or so but we always pick up just where we left off, and it feels like no time has passed at all. I love that!
This weekend we’re heading to Newport today for a mini babymoon. We got married there almost five years ago, so it’s a place that’s near and dear to our hearts. I’m excited to just relax, get a massage, eat yummy food, and walk on the beach with Anel. The drive is pretty short, and we’re not making any solid plans. Both of those things make me very happy!
Before I get into some great links, I wanted to thank all of you who made suggestions on my hospital bag post. They were so helpful and I took copious notes. You guys are seriously the best!
Around the Web
Cutest PJs ever? As seen above: I just love my lemon nightgown and robe above as well as Madison’s floral set!
What went wrong at J.Crew. Mickey Drexler shares his thoughts on where J.Crew made the wrong moves.
Healthy 7-Layer dip. Leave it to Goop to create a cleaned up version of this classic summertime dip that looks incredible.
Poolside before and after. Gray Malin’s new backyard is what my summer dreams are made of. This just about made me want to move to LA.
My little sailor. H&M has the cutest baby clothes that are super affordable.. This week I bought a few things including this sweet sailor dress (I can’t with how cute it is) and a set of three cute onesies.
How bots are affecting Instagram. Victoria sent me this article and I’m so glad she did. It’s frustrating as a blogger when people pay for likes and comments because it makes it look like the honest ones aren’t getting as much engagement. It sounds like Instagram is finally responding to this!
Good for you, Harvard. If you didn’t read about it this week, 10 students who were accepted to Harvard had their acceptances revoked after posting inappropriate content on Facebook.
Cure for the summertime blues. Jess looks incredible in a tailored blue blazer. How does she always do it??
6 ways to top grilled corn. Up your BBQ game with these recipes.
Salmon burgers. And in other BBQ news, I’m adding this recipe to my summer grill list.
And for the grill master… This Saint James apron is everything! Pair it with a star spangled spatula and you’ll be all set for July 4th.
Vinegar shots, anyone? I loved reading one woman’s experience with drinking apple cider vinegar everyday for a week.
One woman’s body image journey. I’m so proud of my friend Eva for writing this post about her relationship with her body. She’s one of the most beautiful people I know, inside and out!
Shoe sale. A bunch of great pairs at J.Crew are 30% off with code MOREPLEASE. I have my eye on these colorful slides.
Another blogger baby. I’m so happy for Sarah and Kiel! They’re going to officially have the preppiest kid of all time. My guess is boy based on her blue dress, but we’ll have to wait and see.
Currently reading: Rich People Problems. So good, slightly trashy. Perfect for the beach this weekend.

Agreed! I feel bad for them because they’re just kids being kids but still… hopefully it will teach future students as well!
I love the lemon pj’s for summertime and that was a very interesting article on J.Crew and definitely gave me food for thought. Enjoy your mini baby moon!
Best,

Thank you!! We had a great time 🙂 Sad to be back so soon.
Those pajamas are so cute! I’m always struggling to find stuff that is comfortable but maybe a bit more put together than an old college t-shirt!
And just a heads up on baby clothes b/c I had an August daughter- newborns are always swaddled and covered up b/c they get cold, even when it’s hot out. Basically any super cute sleeveless dresses and rompers are useless. I had a whole bunch of adorable outfits that she never wore! On the off chance that’s useful info to exchange or size up or something. I’m visualizing this floral romper right now that I had dreamed of her wearing, haha. Not so much!
Have a great weekend in Newport! I am a full time resident here, I love our city by the sea!
It was a wonderful weekend. You’re a lucky lady!
