How We Celebrated Amalia’s 1st Birthday

Amalia's 1st birthday has come and gone, but I still have all of the feels about it. I had no idea how emotional this milestone would make me, and I cried pretty much every day for a week leading up to the big day. It's tapering off now but woah, that was a rollercoaster! I'm not totally sure why, but I think it's a mix of the emotion of surviving the first year and overwhelming pride.

Summer Beach Reads

What makes a great summer beach read? In my opinion it has to draw you in so much that you don't want to put the book down. Something mindless helps too, but a more intelligent read works as long as the storyline is riveting and the characters are interesting.

Normally I like to toggle between lighter reads and smarter ones during the rest of the year, but all rules are off during beach season and I lean towards the page-turner, thriller types.

Dressing As Mom

Moms always talk about their "mom uniform" (myself included) and there's a reason. If you're running around with a kid and picking them up and getting puked on and such, you want something comfortable and not too fussy.

My mom uniform is usually yoga pants (I live in lululemon align crops but have heard that Zella leggings are incredible and super affordable so just bought my first pair on major sale!) and a loose tank top/tee shirt/sweater.

Sunroom Reveal

I’m so excited to finally be sharing this post! A lot of time and energy has gone into this project, but it was all worth it in the end.

This room has been simultaneously the bane of my existence and the most-used room in our house. It’s sun-drenched and happy during the day and perfectly cozy and comfy at night.
