It's kind of crazy how often I hear myself spitting out phrases that my mom used to say that would drive me crazy. Remember those sayings that your mom would use at any chance she could get that would embarrass you in front of your friends? Well now I use them. My poor future children .
The Great Gatsby is my favorite book of all time. I share this favorite with probably millions of other people which is part of the reason the Baz Luhrmann's take on the classic story is getting so much press. If somehow you live under a rock, Baz Luhrmann is the director known best for making Moulin Rouge and Romeo and Juliet, both colorfully flamboyant flicks.
I am a gigantic Jonathan Adler fan but the prices are usually less than optimal. I did buy this pillow after our honeymoon on the Amalfi Coast but besides that, I just peruse when I walk by their colorfully quirky shops.
Things have taken a turn, however, now that JA himself has partnered up with JC Penney for Happy Chic by Jonathan Adler, a fabulous collection of affordable home pieces that still have his usual flair!

As I was putting this outfit together, my photographer was looking at me like a crazy person. She was skeptical about all the stripes but when it finally came together, she was thoroughly impressed with my skill for stripe-mixing.
