I realize this dress kind of looks like a maternity outfit but I like a loose-fitting easy to wear piece like this every once in a while. I don't generally rock a totally black and white look without a big pop of color, but I actually kind of like it here (gasp!).
We're on day two of our yearly trip to Martha's Vineyard. Since I was a kid, I haven't missed a summer. It's my favorite vacation of the year because we literally have no one to answer to, no computers, limited phone service, and lots of incredible fresh food and sunshine. I'm off to Martha's Vineyard with my family for the next 4 days for some R&R, beach time, lobster rolls, home cooked meals, and sleep. This dress is one of my favorite purchases from our trip last year from Island Company.
Just because the weather is cooling down and the days are rapidly getting shorter doesn't mean that you have to sacrifice the bright, bold colors of summer. I love this outfit because it brings in beautiful camel cashmere and incorporates lots of layers but still stays true to the color block trend with pink pants and apple-red flats.
It's easy to fall back into what we know for decorating. I tend to stick to framed photos and posters. Images like these make me want to branch out and pick up some chalkboard paint, heart decals, and a large wooden sign.
