Last night we got home for a rejuvenating weekend in Martha's Vineyard with my family. More on that later... On the way out to the island, Anel and I made a pit stop for a romantic evening in Newport at The Chanler Hotel.

It always sneaks up on me, the end of summer. One day it's Memorial Day, the next I'm planning for Thanksgiving! Tonight we're heading off to Newport for the night followed by a weekend in Martha's Vineyard for one of our last trips of the season.

I've been seeing and reading about "the hun" (short for half-bun) for a few months now and finally decided to try it out for myself. It's basically an updated version of the slicked-back half pony tail that I used to rock circa '97.
If I know anything in this big world of ours, it's how to take an Instagram photo. I know that's silly and seemingly shallow but I love Instagram because it feels like an escape during the day. Although I hate the culture it creates of having to constantly live a beautiful and perfect life (more on that in my post about my struggles with blogging and Instagram here), I love seeing how creative people can get in a tiny square frame.
