As I mentioned on Tuesday, I ate more than one pumpkin whoopie pie from Lou's, my favorite diner in Hanover (my hometown). I started craving them as soon as I returned to the city so decided to make them for myself, cream cheese frosting and all!
I decided to go with a mini version because eating a full one of these puppies is like inhaling an entire birthday cake.
I can't tell you how tragic it was to pack up and leave my family behind in New Hampshire yesterday to come back to the big city. Every fall, I go home for a few days and squeeze in as many dorky/fun fall activities as possible which, this year, included apple picking with my mom, a pumpkin festival at Cedar Circle Farm, apple tasting, leaf peeping, a run through the countryside with gorgeous views, eating pumpkin whoopie pies (twice, duh), going to the annual bonfire for Dartmouth's homecoming, drinking pumpkin ale, and sitting by my mom's fire.
I can't decide if this fuzzy jacket is like hideously weird or the coolest thing that I own. I'm leaning towards the latter. Despite making me look a little sheepish (get it?), it's basically like wearing an acceptably fashionable blanket around town.
