Amalia’s First School Photos

Like any new mom, I take a lot of pictures of my baby. Because of what I do for a living, I probably take more than average! But never have I seen a series of photos that captures Amalia and her personality so well. The photographer who took her first set of "school" photos caught her in action and on the move without any blur which I've learned is nearly impossible based on my millions of tries.

Life Lately: Volume 41

This week started out on a weird note when a CT scan showed pretty extreme inflammation in my sinuses in addition to my nasal polyps (read more on my history with that here) and my doctor told me that surgery was really the only option to help me be able to breathe well again. It will be my second sinus surgery in 10 years but apparently it's easier after the first go-round so I'm trying to stay really optimistic and focus on the fact that I'll feel so much better when it's all over.

Pineapple Dress

Before I get into today's post, I have to mention the fact that I can't even with my hair in these photos... I didn't realize how bad it was until it was too late! So disregard the hair and focus on the adorable pineapple dress of my dreams. The best part is that when we were shooting this in Florida last week I asked Anel how my hair looked, and he responded with "Looks great!" Men...

Nine Months with Amalia

It feels like Amalia has grown up more this month than in any past month. Maybe it's because she's eating solid foods (not just purées) and looks so grown up doing it, maybe it's because she's standing up and crawling and try to escape her crib, and maybe it's because her face has changed to look less like a baby and more like a little toddler.
