Today's post is a very random one but I have some thoughts after a week away with my family, my mom, my sister and her family, and my mother-in-law. We were all in one house (this is the link to the rental if you missed it on Instagram) but managed to make it not feel totally chaotic at all times.
I am feeling very excited today because this weekend Amalia and I are hopping on a plane and flying down to Florida to meet up with my mom, my sister, brother-in-law, and nieces. Anel, Luca, and my mother-in-law will be joining us a few days later (Anel has to work). We rented a big house to fit all of us and plan to hang out in the pool and the beach, cook lots of meals, and generally enjoy the sunshine.
I've had many home office iterations over the years but this is the first that's really pared down, calm, serene, and less full of...stuff. It may look spare and bare to some but for me it brings a sense of peace that immediately melts my stress away. And I love that feeling
It started when I started implementing my decluttering plan and decided to combine my desk and filing cabinet into one piece with a giant executive desk that has a filing cabinet built-in.
I don't have very cute feet. I get calluses easily and quickly, my heels are often cracked, and my big toes point inwards (or "take a hard left", as Anel lovingly teases). Over the last few years, I've realized that I can fix one of those problems at home.
About a week into COVID in 2020, I realized that I was due for a pedicure so I took off my nail polish and tried to do it myself.
