I’m back with the second post in my shopping my closet series, which is now my favorite thing to put together for you guys each week. I might even make it a regular thing year-round. What do you think?
I should probably call this series “blazers and shorts” considering both looks so far involve these two things. You can see the first outfit here, although they couldn’t look more different. That’s the beauty of my beloved blazers, they’re a lot more versatile than you think.
Here’s a breakdown of the look and why I love each piece of clothing involved.
Linen Blazer: I’ve had this Theory blazer for almost three years and I still love it. The material is very thin and breathable which makes it great for working all day in an office (I used to live in it when I had an office job), but it’s fitted and super flattering. It’s malleable enough that you can roll up the sleeves which is always a must for me too. Plus it’s currently on major sale!
I wore it last in this post two years ago.
Cut Off Shorts: These denim shorts are the most unlike me piece of clothing that I own but I love them. Like can’t get enough of them. I’ve worked hard over the last year for a strong body that I’m proud of, and sometimes I just want to show that off! I realize that these One Teaspoon shorts are basically glorified undies but I think as long as you pair them with the right tops and wear them on the right occasions, they’re fun and make me feel young! #yolo

Vineyard Vines Striped Oxford: I love love love this oxford and wear it all the time. The one I linked isn’t exactly the same in pattern but the cut is the same which is what I love most about it. It’s both fitted and not too tight and works well tucked into jeans (or shorts) and on it’s own or under a sweater or blazer.
I wore it last in this post and this one (How tiny is Jackson?). I had to share both to show how many ways it can be worn!
Julie Vos Coin Pendant: This gold coin pendant necklace is, without a doubt, the most worn piece of jewelry that I own. I have to literally stop myself from reaching for it every time I get dressed. It’s classic and clean and looks more expensive than it is. A true winner in my book!
I’ve worn it in countless posts including this one and this one where I was super pregnant.
Steven Sandals: These super chic sandals look very similar to the Hermès pair but are only $79. I’ve been wearing them a lot this summer with everything from dresses to skirts to shorts to white jeans to a romper here.

This definitely deserves its own weekly series! I mean, I wish I could get new clothes every week, but the truth is that I have to shop my closet way more often…which is ok, but I really appreciate the inspo!
I agree! It’s just not possible to buy so many new clothes and this keeps me creative 🙂
Your creativity is remarkable! I don’t think I know anyone who could pull this off. I’d love to see you continue this series.

Hahah thank you so much! It’s definitely not a normal looking outfit but I still love it!
Hot momma! Those shorts are awesome! Rock on.
Thank you so much! xoxo
Yes, please… more using pieces multiple times/ways rather than constant shopping!
It’s so fun! I think I’m going to stick with it!
I love those shorts and this whole outfit is just styled so well.
