Labor Day (and our four-year wedding anniversary!) is next week so my transition from summer to fall outfits here on the blog is going to soon be official. Before I move onto blanket scarves and booties, I want to give a shout out to some of my favorite looks of the summer. A lot of the items in these posts are now majorly marked down so click through to get more details on each look.
The photo above was taken on our first trip of the summer to Palm Beach back in May which feels like a lifetime ago. Since then I’ve been to LA, Martha’s Vineyard, Nantucket, Maine, home to New Hampshire, Newport, and all over Connecticut. I seriously never want it to end.
This weekend we made had one of our last treks to the beach to soak up the sun and enjoy the salt water. I’m assuming when we get back from Seattle next week after Labor Day, it will start to cool down but here’s hoping for an Indian Summer and one or two more beach days.
I have to ask… Which look was your favorite? I love this simple weekend outfit and the romper I wore in Nantucket best!
Here are a few more of my random summer favorites.
Book: The Girls. Like everyone else, I read The Girls this summer and couldn’t put it down. I also loved The Nest and The Singles Game. Any book recs for my trip this week?
TV Show: The Night Of. Anel and I finished with this chilling new HBO mini series last night and I can’t get enough. I wish there were more eps… although the ending was amazing. I have a weird obsession with watching prison shows (This season of Orange is the New Black had me in tears for weeks) and this one went into the horrifying darkness of NYC’s prison/criminal justice system.
Movie: I actually didn’t go to one movie all summer. Is that crazy or what? Dying to see Bad Moms though. I’ve heard it’s hilarious.
Olympic Sport: I’ve always been a fan of swimming and gymnastics but I was mesmerized by the divers this year. What they do is incredible… and those bodies!
Vacation: Taking a full week (mostly) off of work in Martha’s Vineyard last week was a real treat. I’m definitely still paying for it but #worthit, you know?
Bad Moms is a must! I rarely go to the movies, but my fiancé and I randomly decided to a few weekends ago and we both enjoyed it! We went to one of those theatres that serves adult beverages which was fun 🙂
LOVE the fit and flare dress!!!! What size did you get?
Mine is a size 2 but it’s a little big. I always have to size way down in Vineyard Vines though 🙂
I’m so into those romper shorts from the first post, and the white and blue romper towards the bottom! Although I’m sick of the heat (and humidity!), I’m so not ready to say goodbye to summer dresses, shorts and skirts! xx Diana (dianapearl.com)
It’s a treat when you find a blogger who features outfits that you love nearly every single time. I always end up clicking on all the links you post Julia!!! However – and it was a difficult one – I must say I loved the 2 rompers you wore. I haven’t bought one yet (I tried a couple in Gap this summer but found them quite tricky to put on) but you are seriously tempting me. So far, I have found that lots of them at a bit too short and hey, I am a mum of 3 – slim yes but a mum of 3 and I wonder what I could get away with!!? Anyway, I enjoyed looking at your recap! Thanks for this post. Hugs from London, Julie
